Empowering Engineers for a Prosperous Nepal

Welcome to NEA

Established in 1962 and proudly certified under ISO 9001:2015, the Nepal Engineers’ Association (NEA) is Nepal’s leading professional organization, representing over 45,000 engineers and architects across diverse disciplines — including civil, electrical, mechanical, electronics, architecture, and more — serving members both domestically and internationally.

Registered under the Social Service Act of the Government of Nepal, NEA is the unified national voice of the engineering and architectural community, advocating for professionals across government, academia, industry, and entrepreneurship. NEA is dedicated to advancing technical excellence, upholding professional rights, and fostering innovation for Nepal’s inclusive and sustainable development.

1. Governance & Structure

Central Executive Leadership

NEA is governed by a democratically elected Central Executive Committee of 25 members serving a two-year term. Guided by core values of professionalism, innovation, integrity, and service, this leadership team collaboratively empowers and advances Nepal’s engineering fraternity.

Provincial Representation

To ensure inclusive governance and grassroots participation, NEA has established Provincial Committees in all seven provinces. Each committee consists of 15 elected members, facilitating localized decision-making and community engagement.

Global Chapters

NEA supports Nepali engineers worldwide through active international chapters in:

  • Australia
  • Bangkok (Thailand)
  • Japan
  • Qatar
  • United Kingdom (UK)

Specialized Committees

NEA operates 32 thematic and technical Business Committees dedicated to specific disciplines and national priorities, ensuring comprehensive representation and proactive engagement with evolving engineering challenges.

2. Strategic Institutions & Capacity Building

Institutional Platforms

NEA leads national professional development initiatives through:

  • Center for Continuous Engineering Education (CCEE): Offering CPD-accredited training, workshops, and certification programs.
  • Business Incubation Center (BIC): Providing mentorship and startup support, notably supporting successful ventures like Khalti.
